New Baby in the house

Yesterday we adopted a puppy. She is a rescue from a puppy mill, she was living in a doggy foster home and has now found her forever home. We have named her Isabel and she is a half pug half chihuahua. We have a Chihuahua already named Gwen and she is 12 years old. Recently we lost a dog, our male chihuahua of 7 years Gideon. We miss him bunches, but Gwen was pretty lonely and I'd been wanting a puppy so when we found the right one we pounced. lol Anyway I snapped a few pics today, one of just Isabel and one of her and Gwen so you can see the size difference. So far Isabel has made all her potties outside and slept the night in her crate, she did whine for about an hour but then she was cool. Here are the pics:

I will take more pics when Isabel is more acclimated to her new home, she is a happy puppy but exhausted after a big day.  Thanks for visiting.

Unicorn Poop

Okay, so you guys know how much I love baking and all things rainbow and sparkles, right? Well I came across this super fun idea and I wanted to share it with you all. It's Unicorn Poop cookies!!! I have not made them just yet, but I plan to this weekend for Mother's Day. Here is some inspiration and the instructions I found.

Unicorn Poop

Behold! A wondrous creation in homage to magical, mystical, beloved creature. These … are unicorn poop cookies. They are colorful. They are scrumptious. You're friends will love them until they figure out what they are called and then get slightly unnerved for the hottest of seconds. But we think they are MARVELOUS! And if you agree, here is the recipe:
3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. lemon flavoring or 1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 cups of flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
FUN STUFF: Disco Dust, Rainbow Wilton's Sparkle Gel, white Rainbow Dragees Star Sprinkles Food Coloring.
Standard + Neon Mix well shorting, sugar eggs and flavoring, Blend flour, baking powder and salt; stir in. Before you put in the fridge, separate and color pieces of dough into any color your heart desires. Just make sure their is variety! Chill for an hour. Then, take the dough out, roll them out like snakes (think of preschool) and make lines of dough one right next to the other. (Make sure surface is floured!) Now, mold them into a poop shape - you heard us - and pop them into the oven! Viola, instant unicorn defecation! You know you're going to try this!

Etsy on Polyvore!!!

I'm super stoked this morning, I was playing around on Polyvore and I found out that now you can import photos and products from Etsy!!!!! I can't even tell you how excited this makes me. For one thing I can import my own jewelry so I can use it in my sets, and so can others. Second, I can import amazing things from all my favorite etsy shops. Yay for getting handmade products on to this shopping and inspirational site.  So in honor of this discovery, I made a Lumpy Space Princess polyvore set. I frickin' adore LSP! She is so Lumping cool. OMG! If you don't know, LSP is from Adventure Time, one of my all time favorite shows.
Channeling Lumpy Space Princess

As you can see I was able to add my newest Lumpy Space Princess necklace to this set. Here is another picture of the necklace that inspired this set. I love LSP with green and rainbow colors, I think it adds to her awesome tude.

Spring Party

Every year I do a Spring Party at my house for my family. It's the one holiday a year that I get to host for extended family so I always go all out. I meant to take lots and lots of photos, but that didn't end up happening. I guess we had too much fun and good food. I did manage to get a few shots of Pru's dress, some of the food a a bit of table decorations. The menu was Honey Baked ham, roasted root veggies, sauteed  asparagus, mini olive buns with mango curry sauce, deviled eggs, vegan pasta salad and for dessert a homemade Strawberry pie and cookie dough brownies.

Hosting a Gothy Birthday Party

So as you know if you've been reading my blog a while that I love to do birthday parties! I usually only do them for family, but, a few weeks ago I hosted the 14th birthday party of a wonderful friend of mines daughter. My friend, Cyndi, came up with the party theme and game. BTW Cyndi is an amazing artist, check her out!!  The party was soooo fun. The party theme was dressing up and shopping with a frugal twist. The focus of the party was a game called Frugal Fashion Frenzy. Here is the basic idea behind the game:  We had 8 fashion styles. 4 cool styles and 4 not so cool styles. We gave each girl $14. Then we had each girl draw one style out of a hat .  The styles were:

Clown
Fashion Model
Goth Girl
Farmer
Rockstar
Disco Queen
Teacher
Crazy Cat Lady

Since the birthday girl wanted to be the Goth Girl we gave her that style and the other girls drew styles. We ended up with a Clown, a fashion model and a crazy cat lady.  After the girls dressed up we did a photo shoot, then the girls went out to dinner so that they could show off there outfits then back to my place for cake and ice cream!! Check out the pics:

Kawaii Jewelry at Animarathon 2012

I attended and vended at an anime con over the weekend. It was my fist time vending at an event like this, and it went really well and was super fun! I got to see so many cute costumes, meet friendly people and get inspired to make even more jewelry. The con I went to was called Animarathon and took place at BGSU. I took some pics of my booth, and cute customers. Wanna see? I know you do.

Super Deal on kawaii jewelry

Get ready a new PIF will be listed in less then 30 minutes. If you don't know what this means... it means I put up a special listing in my shop that costs only 20 cents + shipping. I love to do these because I like to make people smile and a super deal always makes people smile right? All I ask in return is that if you snag the PIF that you try and make someone smile too. See that way you pay it forward, or PIF.

Here is a sneak peek at what the PIF will be... a present ring! It even opens and their will even be a tiny surprise inside the box. But Shhhhh that is a secret. The ring is adjustable I didn't slide it all the way down on my finger because I didn't want to adjust the ring. ;) Be sure to check the shop.

This is my life...

Yesterday I was working away in my studio making jewelry and then...

I super glued a pink sparkly bow to my finger. At that point I knew I was to tired to keep making jewelry so instead I grabbed my cell phone and snapped a pic of it. Hahahahaha. Then I took a few more pics of my desk just for fun. These are all taken with my cell phone so they are kinda crappy but still fun to see.

My desk is always covered in little plastic toys and beads and charms.

These guys will be necklaces soon... if they stop messing around and hold still long enough. ;)

Just some lil toys that won't become jewelry but are keeping me company while I work.

This is a custom Unicorno by me!! My awesome friend Laura brought it home for me from a comic convention but I forget which one.  Check out Laura's super cool gallery and designer toy store.  I was going to make it to sell, but it's way too cute so it's staying with me. One of these days my studio will be clean enough that I can take photos and share it with you all, but right now I am getting ready for a show so it is a HUGE mess.
